235621 Personalized retail healthcare: Adapting hospital business models to meet consumer needsMonday, October 31, 2011: 12:30 PM
Personalized Retail Healthcare has emerged as a critical new strategy for hospitals to continue to prosper over the next 10 years. Recent funding changes to Medicare and increased competitive pressures require today's hospitals to find new revenues and cost-effective strategies to engage consumers. Empowered healthcare consumers are more frequently choosing how and where their healthcare dollars are spent. Hospitals need to capture the high margin, cash-and-carry revenue delivered via retail operations while providing patients with a reliable and authoritative source for high quality healthcare products. This session will describe ways to attract and engage these consumers through innovative techniques that include brick-and-mortar stores, ecommerce, retail labs, health stores, pharmacies, clinics, gift shops, and e-mail marketing.
