239976 Analyzing the Link between Vision and Social, Emotional and Cognitive MilestonesMonday, October 31, 2011
Many organizations offer social, emotional, and cognitive milestones without actually looking at the complete make-up of the milestones. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) have listed similar milestones for 1) Social and Emotional Development and; 2) Cognitive Development for various ages during early child development. These milestones are heavily weighted in visual development. It is important that all involved with parental education become aware of the links to vision and ways to effectively communicate these links to the parents.
