THE OBJECTIVES OF THE MDR (MATERNAL DEATH REVIEW) : Report will consist of 1.REPORTING AT FACILITY LEVEL 2.INVESTIGATION OF ALL MATERNAL DEATHS BY DISTRICT LEVEL QUALITY ASSURANCE COMMITTEE 3 TO RULE OUT CAUSE OF DEATH, ANY NEGLIGENCE , DELAY IN CARE, TRANSPORT , BLOOD AVAILABILITY 4. SUGGESTION AND GUIDELINES TO IMPROVE FACILITIES AT PHC, SECONDARY AT PERIPHERAL DISTRICT LEVEL AND TERTIARY AT TEACHING HOSP OR MAJOR HOSP LEVEL TO TRACE UNREPORTED MATERNAL DEATHS BY COMMUNITY BASED SURVEY OF ALL WOMEN DEATHS 15 TO 49 YRS 6 .LINE LIST … STUDY CAUSE AND PREVENTIVE MEASURES OUT OF 211 DEATH ..130 RESIDING IN MUMBAI AND 81 OUT OF MUMBAI, AGE WISE ,SOCIO ECONOMIC CLASS AND EDUCATION WISE REVIEW CAUSE OF DEATH ANAEMIA, PPH AND HEPATIC FAILURE,SEPSIS AND DIC TOTAL NO OF THE MATERNAL DEATHS IN MUMBAI -211 TOTAL POPULATION 1.4 CRORE TOTAL BIRTHS- I,84,916 MMR appx 70/1 lac
