Evacuating the Medically Dependent

These videos are part of a larger, online course developed for FEMA by the Yale New Haven Center for Emergency Preparedness and Disaster Response. This web-based course supports the ability of first responders to assist in the evacuation and/or shelter-in-place of medically dependent populations by providing an overview of the potential issues that would be encountered. The goal of this course is to enhance the capacity of first responders to make decisions and perform tasks associated with evacuating or supporting shelter-in-place for medically dependent persons residing in high occupancy facilities.
