251802 Healthy People 2020: Viewing heath improvement through a regional and local lens

Healthy People is a national stakeholder-driven initiative. The underlying premise of Healthy People is that the health of the nation is inseparable from the health of communities and individuals. As such policies, programs and actions at the state and local levels determine the health of the nation as a whole. The success of Healthy People 2020 will hinge on efforts undertaken in states, territories, Tribes and communities. This presenter will describe how the national framework, goals and objectives of Healthy People 2020 can be translated and implemented at all levels and across different sectors, moving beyond the traditional health arena.
