With the rapid influx of new immigrants and the urbanization and creation of Mega Cities has resulted in new opportunities and threats to the urban population . Some of the challenges faced by the urban dwellers with regard to their health status is influenced by internal and external factors. Some of these include over crowding , lack of clean water supply and increased risk of infectious diseases. The link between MDG 7 which is to Ensure Environmental Sustainability and urban health will be discussed with specific examples. Strategies to improve urban health and make communities healthier will be discussed.
