The role of the school nurse in planning and implementing a school based oral health program is crucial to the success of the program. Integrating oral health into coordinated school health is accomplished through a partnership with school administrators, teachers, staff, parents and most importantly the school nurse. Strategies for a successful integration of oral into school health will be discussed. The partnership and related activities with the National Association of School Nurses and oral health will also be described.
