Disaster's Impact on the Tohoku Region

Overview of the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami Disaster and the responses of central and local governments of Japan are introduced for the further discussion about what should be done to protect the public against preventable death, communicable and non-communicable diseases in such a complicated disaster of earthquake, tsunami and atomic accident. The strong will for revitalization even in the never-ending sorrow of the tremendous loss to the nation has been uniting Japanese people since March 11, 2011. Sympathies and emergency assistance from overseas countries and regions have also encouraged Japanese people. Comprehensive public health measures can be achieved through collaboration.
