Strategic Planning as a necessary prerequisite for accreditation and as a tool to facilitate policy and planning and to drive performance management will be discussed within the context of ASTHO facilitated technical assistance. More specifically examples will be provided of utilization of the community-balanced scorecard (CBSC) approach with two distinct public health units to drive planning and performance management and to cross-walk existing strategic plans to align with top level strategy maps and to align strategic objectives with PHAB accreditation standards.
