Traumatic Foundation advocated for fire-safe cigarettes, in collaboration with burn survivors, doctors and nurses, burn centers, fire service organizations, and tobacco control organizations. This coalition worked for the passage of the nation's first firesafe cigarette bill in New York State, which took effect in 2003.
