253754 Engaging policy makers in Rhode Island: Process, successes and next steps

The Rhode Island Public Health Association (RIPHA) entered into a partnership with the Rhode Island state general assembly in 2006, call the Rhode Island Public Health Think Tank (PHTT). The establishment of this innovative entity, the operational function of the collaboration, and successes and challenges of working with the state legislature will be addressed.

Learning Objectives:
Discuss the steps taken by RIPHA to establish the PHTT in collaboration with the RI legislature. Analyze two successes and challenges experienced by RIPHA during the subsequent years of PHTT.
