This presentation will describe challenges and complexities faced by those who aim to build an evidence base that adequately addresses the real world needs and constraints of community health decision makers. It will discuss how the Community Guide seeks to address those challenges, and will underscore the value of learning from and incorporating both research-tested and practice-based evidence.

Learning Objectives:
1. Describe four key challenges faced by those who aim to build an evidence base that meets the needs and constraints of community health decision makers. 2. Explain how the Community Guide addresses each of these four key challenges, and the resulting implications for community health decision makers. 3. Discuss what is needed to ensure that practice-based evidence can be incorporated alongside research-tested evidence.
