Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: Lynda A. Anderson, PhD is the Director of the Healthy Aging Program, Division of Adult and Community Health in the National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia. The Healthy Aging Program serves as the focal point for older adult health at CDC. Additionally, she led the creation of CDC’s Healthy Brain Initiative, which is housed within the Healthy Aging Program. Dr. Anderson has over 100 peer-reviewed publications plus numerous book chapters and invited articles. Dr. Anderson is responsible for leading innovative projects to facilitate the translation of research to practice to improve the lives of older adults. She received her doctorate from the School of Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed a two-year NIA Postdoctoral Fellowship in aging at the Duke University Center for the Study of Aging and Human Development. Much of her work has focused on provider-patient communication, moving science into practice, and the development of several measures such as the Trust in Physician Scale.
