What If? Predicting the Impact of Modeling and Simulation in our Future Healthcare
Tuesday, November 1, 2011: 2:30 PM
Modeling and simulation is poised to transform drug development across the whole lifecycle from discovery to commercialization, as well as to inform future healthcare planning and practice. This transformation will translate into more targeted treatments coupled with evidence-based decision-making, supporting improvements in health and healthcare. Dr. Gillings will discuss the position of the biostatistician as a facilitator of multi-disciplinary teams – helping them to understand the causes of disease and the impact of new therapies – while using ever-larger data sets to turn data into intelligence. The biostatisticians of the future will need to master new modeling and simulation techniques to push the frontiers of healthcare.
