I have been asked to be a discussant for this presentation on the topic of leadership development for community health improvement due to my background and experience in public health leadership development and community health improvement. I will highlight the community health improvement initiatives that the Cambridge Public Health Department has engaged in and also provide the personal leadership story of the Department's Chief Public Health Officer's commitment to community improvement initiatives and how training from the National Public Health Leadership Institute and the Emerging Public Health Leadership program helped prepare me for the community improvement initiatives I have engaged in.
