Disclosure statement:
Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I am qualified to be a session organizer because I have over 8 years of experience in both research and practice related to measuring and evaluating policy, environment, and systems change. I currently serve on the faculty of the University of New Hampshire's Department of Health Management and Policy, and at The Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy and Practice at Dartmouth Medical School. My research, currently funded through the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Active Living Research program, involves using Community-Based Participatory Research methods to work with communities on issues related to the built environment and prevention of obesity, violence, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease, emphasizing cross-sectoral policy, environment, and systems change strategies. I have worked in local and state public health departments on these issues, have co-authored a textbook chapter focused on policy for physical activity promotion, and I work with lower income communities to build capacity for chronic disease prevention.
Previously, I completed a postdoctoral fellowship in cardiovascular epidemiology at the University of North Carolina, and attended the 2009 Institute for Systems Science and Health. I am experienced in the design, implementation, and analysis of research and evaluation studies focused on policy, environment, and systems change.
