Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: I am Chair of the Council on Likages Between Public Health Academia and Practice that developed the first set and subsequent revision of core comptencies for the public health workforce. I participated with others in the development of competencies for MPH graduates by the Association of
Schools of Public Health (ASPH) and I co-chaired the more recent effort of ASPH to develop competencies for all-hazards preparedness. In addition I'm familiar with workforce issues because I spent 27 years as Director of the Akron Health Department.
