Monday, October 31, 2011: 8:30 AM
Oral
National HIT goals can only be achieved within a local context. Without Local health departments (LHD), meaningful use will not lead to meaningful data exchange or improved health outcomes, which are the ultimate purposes of HIT adoption. This session will explore the role of LHD in the execution of national HIT strategies.
Session Objectives: At the end of this session, participants should be able to: 1. Explain why Local Health Departments (LHD) are vital to achieving Meaningful Use (MU). 2. Give examples of what MU means in the LHD context.
