Tuesday, November 1, 2011: 10:30 AM
Oral
Reducing disparities in health and health care should remain a key focus of health IT. The federal government has realized this, and has directed that the Department of Health and Humans Services (HHS) study the subject, and determine 'best practices'. This session will examine various settings within which this important work is taking place.
Session Objectives: At the end of this session, participants should be able to: 1. define ways in which health IT can help increase health literacy; 2. discuss case studies that illustrate the value of health IT innovation in improving care.
