How and where we live, eat, work, play, and socialize profoundly influence our physical and mental health. This session will mainly cover the following important topics related to this issue: the use of health impact assessment to improve health and the built environment for older adults; building a healthy local food system to benefit every age; and environmental threats to healthy aging (a life span approach).
Session Objectives: 1. Demonstrate the use of health impact assessment to improve health and the built environment for older adults. 2. Show how to bring organizations and residents together to identify needs and establish goals in their community's food system.
