255706 Personal Preparedness of EIU EmployeesMonday, October 29, 2012
This research project, entitled “Personal Preparedness of EIU Employees,” is designed to assess the knowledge, attitudes and behavior relative to preparing for a range of hazards. The survey is modeled after the FEMA's Citizen Corps National Survey that assesses the public's thoughts, perceptions, and behaviors related to preparedness and community safety for multiple types of hazards. The research questions are: To what extent are EIU employees prepared for disasters? What barriers do employees perceive in preparing for disasters? What is the perception of vulnerability to different types of disasters? In which stage of the Stages of Change model (Precontemplation, Contemplation, Preparation, Action, Maintenance) are employees relative to disaster preparedness?
