This presentation will describe the evolution of the The National Board of Public Health Examiners' (NBPHE) recertification requirements for the CPH credential. Recertification is evidence of CPH professionals commitment to personal development and lifelong learning. It is also necessary in order to maintain the CPH credential for the next two year renewal period. The presentation will outline the development of the recertification process.

CPH professionals across the globe continue their commitment to their careers and the field by complying with requirements set by the NBPHE. The recertification standards were developed not only to encourage life-long learning but also to ensure ongoing competence in the field. Data from members of the Charter Class (cohort of 2008) and benchmarks for other disciplines informed the current standards. The NBPHE launched an online reporting system for tracking recertification efforts and reporting credits earned in an online transcript. The recertification requirements are an important step in building value in the CPH credential.
