256852 Case-control study on risk factors of breast cancer in rural women of HubeiWednesday, October 31, 2012
ABSTRACT To explore the occurrence and distribution of breast cancer in Hubei Province, propose appropriate preventive measures and explore integrated intervention model of breast cancer, in order to promote the health of rural women in Hubei, the breast cancer screening informations were obain from the Hubei Provincal Maternal and Child Health Hosptial, what report by Hubei Province breast cancer screening project counties in 2009-2011. Using the 1:1 case-control study method, 158 cases of breast cancer (grade breast disease diagnosed as CIN1 and more patients) were interviewed. The detection rate of Breast cancer was 127.63/10 million, and the high incidence of breast cancer in Hubei among women aged from 35 to 47 years. Multivariate conditional logistic regression analysis shows that four factors were significantly associated with the incidence of breast cancer, medical history of benign breast disease [OR=6.862; 95% confidence interval (CI) =1.518-10.372; P<0.001], regular intake of high fat foods [OR=1.493; 95% confidence interval (CI) =1.120-2.582; P = 0.038], severe calamity in family [OR=2.448; 95% confidence interval (CI) =1.459-5.376; P =0.020], and higher score of breast health knowledge [OR=0.469; 95% confidence interval (CI) =0.315-0.834; P =0.011]. The prevalence of breast cancer in Hubei Province is higher than the national averaged prevalence, and has developed to young women. According to the epidemiological characteristics of breast cancer in Hubei Province, the tertiary prevention should be implemented to women with the risk of breast cancer, to achieve the target of reducing the incidence or mortality of breast cancer.
