Title: AMERICAN ACADEMY OF CANANBINOID MEDICINE (AACM) The proper role of physicians in addressing the responsible prescribing and use of medic cannabis. Abstact: The American Academy of Cananbinoid Medicine (AACM) was founded in 2008 by a group of prominent cannabinoid medicine physicians who wanted to establish high standards for the practice of cannabinoid medicine and to get the media to turn more to scientific experts when interviewing people on this topic. The AACM sets promotes high practice standards and ethics in the field of cannabinoid medicine We are a medical and scientific organization whose members are clinicians and researchers active in the field of cannabinoid medicine. We are a knowledgeable source for information about medicinal cannabis and the endocannabinoid system. We support the use of plant-derived and synthetic cannabinoids for valid medical reasons. The AACM board represents a diversity of experience in clinical practice, clinical research, and policy-making positions across a broad range of settings. Specialties represented include Rehabilitative Medicine, Neurology, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, Pubic Health, Family Practice, OB-GYN, Infectious Disease, and Addiction Treatment. Our focus is on physiological and pharmacological studies of the endocannabinoid system and the clinical application of cannabis. The AACM is designed to be a forum for the exchange of clinical information and ideas about cannabinoids.
