Wednesday, October 31, 2012
: 9:10 AM - 9:30 AM
As part of a broader panel discussion focused on approaches to leadership development (“The Pipeline Promise: Cultivating the Next Generation of Health Leaders”), a recent CLI alumna, Tracy Macdonald Mendez will discuss her experience with Blue Shield of California Foundation's Clinic Leadership Institute (CLI). Prior to being accepted into CLI, Ms. Mendez worked as Operations Administrator at La Clinica de la Raza (La Clinica), a large community clinic based in Oakland. Since then, Ms. Mendez was promoted to the position of Director of Medical Operations. As the third La Clinica representative to complete CLI, she will share thoughts about how CLI has impacted her, her colleagues and her organization. In particular, she will talk about her CLI project which created data dashboards for use at 11 clinic sites. In anticipation of healthcare reform, the data dashboards are helping guide La Clinica's efforts to improve the patient experience and quality of care, while reducing the cost of providing this care.
