The purpose of this presentation is to describe NIH funding opportunities and current portfolio in cancer prevention and control, and to provide an overview of grant mechanisms particularly conducive to behavioral and social science research. Early career investigators will learn about several funding opportunities, including the status of NCI's small grants and exploratory grants program in behavioral research, small business innovation research (SBIR), dissemination and implementation research in health, health literacy, and research to inform tobacco regulatory science, among others. Dr. Chou will provide an overview of funding opportunities and priorities for social and behavioral science research, including current and future Program Announcements. Dr. Blake will address the current portfolio of NCI funded research in behavioral science and cancer control, with a focus on extramural research supported by the Behavioral Research Program.
