Background: Healthy People 2020 is the fourth iteration of the Healthy People Initiative which is a comprehensive set of national 10-year health promotion and disease prevention objectives aimed at improving the health of all Americans. The Health Indicators Warehouse (HIW) is a publicly available data warehouse of pre-tabulated health indicators that includes those used by the Healthy People 2020 (HP2020) Initiative. Objectives/Purpose: This presentation will focus on helping Healthy People stakeholders transition from using DATA2010, the database and website, designed specifically for housing and displaying Healthy People 2010 data, to using the HIW to access data for HP2020 objectives, which are displayed as health indicators). Methods: Using select indicators from the Healthy People Initiative as examples, demonstrate the features made available through the new HIW, such as how to search for objectives by topic area, objective number, or key word search; and how HP2020 users can locate operational definitions (now referred to as metadata), sub-national data, information on variance of estimates, age-adjustment, age-restrictions on demographic data, and more. Results: This project demonstrates the utility of the HIW in providing Healthy People users with the features with which they were accustomed to in DATA2010, in addition to new and valuable options for data presentation.
