Introduction

Violence against women is far too common. It is experienced by at least twenty percent of women during their lifetime. The technology and data utilized by The "Meaningful Awareness Exchange" (MAX) may serve as resources for education, awareness and prevention.

Methods

GIS is utilized to leverage data layers from multiple authoritative sources. This M.A.X. dashboard interface is linked to a mheath application.

Meaningful Awareness Exchange: M.A.X.

The "Meaningful Awareness Exchange" (MAX) is a Resource for Campus Safety, Violence Prevention and Intervention by:

* Making it easier for violence prevention leaders to visualize and act upon data impacting their program areas * Helping to *Listen* to social media posts about service areas by visualizing them * *Broadcast* important prevention and resource messages via social media and local communication channels * Understand patterns of ongoing risk * Improve program design, implementation and outcomes via secure channels with enhanced awareness.

Stakeholders can expand useful real-time data visualization with diminished personal safety risk by: * Encouraging the adoption of universal campus violence prevention and personal safety training for students, all staff and faculty * Incentivize campus messaging opt-in with commercial special offers and prizes * Support innovative peer educators, trained student safety partners, staff and Faculty participation

Results

Technology may be utilized as one tool to address this issue. Geographic Information Systems combined with geospatial data layers can support a dashboard linked with mhealth resources to improve safety and public health.
