The presentation will include a research study that involves reducing disparities in substance use screening and treatment, directed under Andrew Sussman, Ph.D.

Identify themes of activists in a social justice healthcare reform movement related to what inspires them toward activism and what keeps them going in the struggle for justice. Identify tips for community organizers in fostering community members’ capacity to face obstacles in a positive and productive way. Describe the state health care reform work of the Health Security for New Mexicans Campaign. Describe how the themes of Dr. Millen’s research connects with moral, ethical, and humanitarian obligations, with health care as a human right, and with the grassroots struggle for single payer health care in our country.
