Healthy People 2020, includes two developmental objectives on the percentage of dental staff (dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants) who screen dental patients for tobacco use and provide counseling for tobacco cessation (HP2020 TU9.3 and TU10.3). The objective of the study is to present data from the American Dental Association's 2010 and 2011 Survey of Dental Practice on the percentage of US dental staff that screen and counsel patients on tobacco use and cessation.
