CeaseFire is an example of the public health approach to violence prevention in action. CeaseFire recognizes violence as a learned behavior that can be prevented using disease control methods like identification and detection Interruption, Intervention, and risk reduction and changing behavioral norms. A public health approach to preventing violence: researches and implements effective models, reduces juvenile crime and homicides, promotes return on investment and reduces the frequency and severity of other health issues.
