This presentation will focus on the CDC Periodontal Disease Surveillance Project focusing on the objectives and accomplishments of this project. An overview of the data as it relates to periodontitist among US adults and the performance of self-report measures for periodontitis using NHANES data will be discussed. The impact of the findings as it relates to public health will be discussed.
