This poster describes the strategic planning efforts of Healthy UNH, as guided by the National Prevention Strategy.

Healthy UNH is a campus-wide initiative at the University of New Hampshire that encourages faculty, staff, and students to improve their health while teaching the community to be educated health care consumers.

After three years of work, Healthy UNH is undergoing strategic planning to determine its work plan for the next three years.

In looking through the actions recommended in the National Prevention Strategy, Healthy UNH's first step was to determine its role in carrying forward action items. Initially, the University appeared to fall into the Early Learning Centers, Schools, Colleges, and Universities category as well as the Businesses and Employers category. After reviewing all recommendations, it became clear that implementing the framework requires action across all sectors:

„X Early Learning Centers, Schools, Colleges, and Universities „X Businesses and Employers „X State, Tribal, Local and Territorial Government „X Health Care System, Insurer, and Clinician „X Community, Non-Profit, and Faith-Based Organization „X Individuals and Families

We reviewed each of the action items, identified existing resources, and assigned primary campus partners for accomplishing each action item. We met with each of the partners to discuss our work. Essentially, UNH is a community with influences across all sectors, and stakeholders have to be engaged. Each meeting categorized action items by whether they are being addressed or are gaps in services.

Our next step will be to set and prioritize goals to develop our new work plan.
