We need a new narrative for health -- one that conveys a more holistic and socially-connected view than insurance, pills and hospitals. To do this we need to break-through communication barriers to talk about the social determinants of health. “Health Happens Here” does that. Joining place and determinism (power) as agents for addressing how to achieve desired health outcomes, Health Happens Here speaks to collective stewardship to improve the underlying conditions for health, in all communities, for all groups, throughout the lifespan.

Learning Areas:
Provision of health care to the public

Learning Objectives:
Increase awareness of how communication barriers affect our ability to address key issues that underlie health and how we might overcome these to improve health status and outcomes.
