Incorporating media outreach can bring tremendous value to existing advocacy efforts at the state and local levels. This presentation will discuss the basics on how local advocates can utilize a range of communication techniques -- including social media engagement and traditional media outreach -- to enhance your priority issues. APHA communication staff with share tools the Association uses to enhance visibility of its legislative priorities including Twitter, Facebook and Public Health Newswire – a new health news portal created and supported by APHA.
