274766 What's really happening in primary care today? Reflections from two recent Commonwealth- and AHRQ-funded improvement projectsTuesday, October 30, 2012
: 1:30 PM - 2:00 PM
Dr. Schiff will reflect on lessons learned in the course of participating in and evaluating two recent primary care improvement projects. One was a qualitative evaluation of a series of "medical home" pilots linked to payment reform in two large practice networks in the northeast U.S. The other is a statewide malpractice reform pilot aiming to improve safety and reduce malpractice risks in ambulatory practices in Massachusetts—the PROMISES (Proactive Reduction of Outpatient Malpractice—Improving Safety Efficiency and Satisfaction) Project. The latter focuses on "3+1" areas for improvement: referral, test-tracking, and medication-management with overarching communication issues.
