274849 Bringing Health to the Table: How a Health Lens Can Improve Efficiency and Achieve Multiple GoalsTuesday, October 30, 2012
: 9:10 AM - 9:30 AM
A Health in All Policies approach, by its very nature, involves the application of a health lens. This presentation will provide an overview of formal and informal health lens analysis, and will describe the distinction between health lens analysis and health impact assessment. The presentation will also explain specific instances of how the California Health in All Policies Task Force applies a health lens to guidance, surveys, and technical assistance issued by the State. Participants will learn how California has partnered with agencies across a variety of sectors to apply a health lens in order to improve government efficiency and balance competing policy priorities. The presenter will share how a health lens can support improved data collection, strengthen the ability for government to respond to community health, sustainability, and health equity needs, and improve preparation for climate change and other emergency scenarios.
