The relationship between health, educational success and public health is both straight forward and complex for school-age youth. Yet to remedy the inequities in educational achievement and adult health one must unpack the intricacies of the relationship to determine the best strategies for resolution and ultimately stemming the cycle of poverty. Healthy People 2020 forces the examination of this relationship for public health practitioners to be responsive.
