274934 Prototype Course on Public Health QualityMonday, October 29, 2012
: 12:30 PM - 12:45 PM
The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH), in partnership with faculty from schools of public health at UNC-CH and UMN and the Public Health Foundation, developed a course on public health quality. Research of MPH and DrPH curriculums found that many public health educational programs do not include coursework on the basic concepts of quality or the application of those concepts to public health. The purpose of the course developed by OASH is to increase knowledge on fundamental concepts of public health quality. The target audiences for the course are students and existing public health professionals. The course and related portfolio of educational materials such as book chapters that provide illustrations on the application of public health quality concepts across various settings will be distributed widely to close the gaps that were found.
