Qualified on the content I am responsible for because: Since 1992 Dr. Talavera has been PI on 14 NIH-funded grants totally totaling over $21,901,142. My research expertise includes behavioral and clinical interventions for chronic disease (cardiovascular, diabetes and cancer) control, with an emphasis on the Latino community. Other expertise includes recruitment and retention of participants in longitudinal studies, research ethics, career development of diversity researchers and students, multi-center research and coordination, and most recently epidemiological studies.
