Disaster preparedness is central to improving health outcomes following disasters among vulnerable populations. A variety of useful disaster preparedness approaches targeting various populations will be discussed during this session.
Session Objectives: List two disaster preparedness approaches that can be used to improve health outcomes following disasters among vulnerable populations. Discuss the process of engaging community stakeholders in developing an alternate care site plan. Discuss policy implications of the preparedness level for vulnerable populations. Describe how to assess knowledge regarding personal safety during an evacuation situation.
