3028.0 Access to health servicesMonday, October 29, 2012: 8:30 AM - 10:00 AM
Oral
Although barriers to health and health care for the general population are well documented and heightened national awareness of these obstacles has spurred numerous proposals for health care reform, such barriers for Americans with disabilities have not been well documented. The presenters of this session report that people with disabilities experience unique problems in gaining access to appropriate health care, including health promotion and disease prevention services.
Session Objectives: Identify barriers that hinder health service access for persons with disabilities.
