4110.0 Expanding Ethical Inquiry: Training Public Health Officials

State and local health departments and other agencies providing public health services encounter ethical challenges, among them allocating scarce resources, protecting individual rights, supporting marginalized communities, providing information transparently, evaluating program purpose and effectiveness, etc. Session 4110.0 provides opportunity to explore exemplary case studies, training modules, examples of ethics networking and partnerships, and other resources that have been developed to support ethical decision making in state and local public health settings.
Session Objectives: Describe resources - developed through recent CDC-supported research, consulation, and collaborations - that enhance formal, complete, and effective ethical analysis and discussion in public health agencies.
