4101.0 Techniques for collecting epidemiological data on homelessness and including consumers in the research process

This session will provide a discussion of various techniques for collecting epidemiological data on homelessness, multi-sector collaborations, and addressing ethical concerns around informed consent.
Session Objectives: 1. Evaluate risk factors for veterans becoming homeless. 2. Discuss how implementation of the Incident Command System Model can be used as a means of building collaborations among academics, health departments, homeless service providers and community volunteers. 3. Describe the most common causes of death in a "rough sleeper" population in Boston. 4. Describe solutions to reduce the complexity of the informed consent process with homeless adults.
