The diverse experiences of immigrants and minorities in the United States are important issues. This session covers the following important topics: life course disadvantage of African Americans and chronic disease in adulthood, racial disparities in LTC institutionalization upon hospital discharge, racial and ethnic disparities in the functional status of Medicare home health care patients, implementing the Program to Encourage Active and Rewarding Lives for Seniors to older immigrants, and the HHS Office of Minority Health's enhanced National CLAS Standards.
