Physical activities hold great promise for successful aging. The presentations of this session cover the following topics: the effects of an evidence-based falls-risk reduction program on physical activity and falls efficacy among oldest-old adults, meaning and impact of creative dance and story telling in long term care, using photovoice and whole body video games to engage families in health practices for successful aging, the factors affecting border Hispanics' physical activity status and improvements in a chronic diseases prevention program, as well as an international comparison of physical activities, healthy life style, and successful aging.
Session Objectives: 1. Discuss policy implications of enhancing physical activity among the oldest-old population. 2. Identify outcomes associated with implementation of a creative dance and story telling program in long-term care facilities. 3. Assess the determinants of success in PA improvement for a prevention education program with various practices.
