In this session, presenters will make presentations and answer questions on new developments on the following topics: a midcourse review of the Millennium Development Goals, child-headed households in Africa, new developments on immigration and public health, public health implications of the Supreme Court decision on the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, inadequate primary care access for Medicare recipients, and the impact of public health budget cutbacks on the resurgence of pertussis.
Session Objectives: Describe current issues concerning new developments in major issues of public health. Describe what public health workers can do to address these issues.
