This session will provide an overview and update of the impact of quality and accountability on the oral health industry. A major report released in January of 2012 called “Oral Health Quality Improvement in the Era of Accountability” outlined the drivers of change in oral health, the factors that will bring accountability to oral health delivery systems, and the profound implications of these trends for the oral health industry. This session will review the report and recommendations that resulted from a broad group of stakeholders that considered the report.
Session Objectives: 1. Describe the drivers of accountability in oral health 2. List the major implications of the report on “Oral Health Quality Improvement in the Era of Accountability” 3. Describe recent developments to move the oral health delivery system into the era of accountability.
