5202.0 Effective Oral Health Communications Across the Lifespan

The theme of this session is how best to communicate oral health messages across the life span. Speakers will address the human/technology interface and technology usability at different ages, text messaging to communicate oral health information to pregnant women and new mothers, the use of “serious games” for delivering oral health messages to tweens and adolescents, and oral health message framing for older adults.
Session Objectives: Attendees will be able to: Explain the importance of clearly defining and segmenting intended audiences. Identify opportunities to use current technologies to improve oral health message communication. Discuss differences in effective oral health communication strategies between age groups.
