This poster session presents the diverse health and mental health concerns that may present during pregnancy, such as maternal depression, stress, and substance use, and discusses points of intervention including reducing barriers to prenatal and mental health care, screening for drug and alcohol use, and implementing state policies to reduce inductions and elective c-sections.
Session Objectives: 1.) List three health issues that can be identified and addressed during pregnancy.
2.) Describe three ways in which state policies and health systems impact prenatal care and birth outcomes.
3.) List three under-served populations that can benefit from tailored prenatal care.
